I Work 4 Me
Scottish Charity, I Work 4 Me provides specialised support to people with an ASC who would like to become self employed. They will be holding 1:1 appointments at Number 3 on Tuesday 28th January between 11.00am and 4.00pm. If you would like more information about this charity or would like to make an appointment with them to discuss your business ideas, please contact Claire, Jill or Julie at Number 3.
Caritas Legal Information Session
Lorna Brown from Caritas Legal Limited will be holding a free information session for our Parent/Carer Group on Wednesday 15th January. The session will run from 6.30pm-8.00pm. She will cover legal issues such as Guardianship, Power of Attorney and Wills and Trusts. If you are a parent, carer or sibling of an adult with an ASC and you would like to attend this information session please get in touch with a member of staff.
Employment Group Sessions
The employment group will start up again on the 6th of January. The next few sessions will cover the following topics… Monday 6th January – CV Skills. Monday 13th January – Mhoira Pendleton will be coming in to chat to us about ‘Job Centre’ and ‘Work Choice Programme’. Monday 20th January – Zoe Robertson, our local Autism Coordinator, is coming in to ask for our views and opinions on what it is like to live with an ASC in Perthshire. Monday 27th January – First Stop Training follow up session with Helen and Elaine.
Christmas Fundraising!
On the 30th November we had a stall at Alyth Christmas Fayre, selling handmade crafts and candy. We raised a total of £250 for Number 3. Thanks to Max, Oliver, Jonathan and Matthew for designing our handmade cards! Special thanks also goes to Janice and Kate who donated an amazing selection of handmade jewellery and scarves, your continued support is very much appreciated!
Our first fundraising event!
A big THANKYOU to all who attended our fundraising quiz at Kinnoull Bowling Club, a great night was had by all! Thanks also to everyone who bought raffle tickets, donated prizes or gave up their free time to come along and help out. Your support is very much appreciated!
Together we raised a total of £610, all of which will go towards resources for our activity groups and drop in sessions.
Halloween Spectrum
Thanks to all the witches, zombies and other creepy creatures who came to our spooky spectrum this week. Well done to Ewan McSloy who won first prize in our fancy dress competition and also to Cale Baird who won our Halloween quiz. Check out our Halloween pictures in the Gallery section.
Employment Group starts at Number 3
The ladies from First Stop Training will be coming in to Number 3 to deliver a four week ‘Enhancing Employment Programme’. The group will meet on a Monday afternoon from 3.00pm until 5.00pm. On the 11th, 18th and 25th of November and on the 2nd of December.
The sessions will cover many things including; CV writing, mock interviews, working as part of a team and job searching. The sessions are designed to build on the confidence levels and skill sets needed when looking for employment.

Life in Colour
Number 3 recently had the privilege of hosting the Autism Life in Colour Exhibition. The exhibition consisted of 24 photographs taken by individuals with an Autism Spectrum Condition, on the 2nd of April this year (World Autism Day). The photographs portrayed the best and worst aspects of their day. Thanks to everyone who came along and viewed the exhibition throughout the month of September.
Late Diagnosis Group starts at Number 3
Late Diagnosis Group is for people who have had a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome or High Functioning Autism in their teens or as adults and would like to know more about the condition. The group will run for 2 hours each week for a 9 week period. Each session will cover a different topic; sensory issues, childhood, education, mental health, lifestyle, communication, relationships and employment.
The group currently meets on a Tuesday (please see timetable below). If you are interested in future groups please ask Jill for more information.
